Thank you!
Dear friends,
The last few weeks have been an incredible whirlwind. After the success of our debut performance at Otherland Buchhandlung, we were invited to perform The Toynbee Convector at Metropolcon/Eurocon, a major sci-fi & fantasy convention held this year at silent green kulturquartier. It was an amazing and unexpected experience.
We are so grateful to Wolf and Jan at the Otherland for believing in our concept and hosting our debut, and especially to everyone who came to our show. As a performer, there is no better feeling than getting to share with others, and we couldn't be more pleased to hear your feedback as well. It turns out, your favorite sound effects are our favorites too!
Here are some of our favorite notes in the guestbook so far:
"LITERALLY SLAYED."
"We talked so much about utopias and what they could look like. To listen to you perform - that was playful and wondrous. Exactly the thing a utopia needs."
"So while our art cannot, as we wish it could, save us from wars, privation, envy, greed, old age, or death, it can revitalize us amidst it all."
-Ray Bradbury
And now, with a feeling of great satisfaction, we are resting, reading, and preparing for fall performances π
With much gratitude,
Liz, Lydia, Katrina, and Alex
π What we're reading:
Liz: Monk & Robot Series by Becky Chambers
Lydia: Boudicca's Daughter by Elodie Harper
Katrina: "deshalb kann ich nicht fort" by Aiki Mira
π If you'd like to support our work with a one-time or ongoing subscription, there is now an option to do so.
There is a lot of behind-the-scenes work that goes into shows like this:
Reading and selecting stories; selecting, purchasing, and arranging music; rehearsing individually and as a group; contacting and coordinating with venues; preparing media, marketing, and communication materials; contacting publications for press... the list goes on.
Of course we are doing this because we love it, but any support you can offer - even β¬5 or β¬10 per month - will help us to continue bringing these stories to life.
πΊοΈ If you have ideas for other venues, cities, stories, that you think might be a good fit for us, please reach out!
